South Carolina’s Early Childhood Advisory Council is a collaborative body representing the state’s early childhood system. Established in law, the ECAC includes the directors of eight state agencies and government entities that provide state- and federally-funded services to young children. South Carolina First Steps coordinates the activities of the council.

The mission of the South Carolina Early Childhood Association (SCECA) is to enhance knowledge; advance evidence based practices, and provide leadership to increase public understanding and support for policy that results in high quality early care and education for every child from birth to age eight in South Carolina.

Information, website links, and resources are provided to support developmentally appropriate activities for learning content through a curriculum supported by a classroom rich in language and literacy experiences for early learners.
